Precious Swallow Reply

I happened across this sweet traveler in Lugang (鹿港鎮), a small town in central Taiwan.

This is most likely a house or barn swallow, with some slight differences from what folks are used to seeing in other continents – some Asian influence. Swallows frequently make their home under eaves at the doorsteps of homes, or at the entrances of local businesses despite the occasional droppings they leave under their nests.

They are welcome homesteaders anywhere in Taiwan (and sometimes in mainland China), as they are bringers of good luck, happiness in the home, and good business.
