You and I stand here,
these strange enlivened vessels –
empty of each other,
yet filled with our own personal worries
at the end of a work’s hard day.
You and I: we face each other in (mock?) combat.
And when the time comes
for us to to stand up
to each other no more,
we pour our doubts and fears
into one another –
only to find they fall
and strike no bottom,
skittered away
into an infinity of nothingness.
Then and only then
are we together…
